Labor Day weekend in Williamburg, Virginia

By Mara 7 Comments

Wig in Colonial Williamsburg I’m very excited to announce that although summer is just about over our family travel definitely isn’t! Next week we’ll be heading to Williamsburg, Virginia for a weekend of fun including a “ghost tour” of Colonial Williamsburg, a visit to Jamestown, and a trip to Water Country USA.  And we’ll be getting there in a very sweet ride – a fully-loaded Acura MDX. In fact, with the windows open and the radio playing, it may just feel like summer will never end.

This photo is from the flying visit to Williamsburg that Tommy and I made last summer in another fun, if slightly less luxurious, car. I share it for Photo Friday at Delicious Baby.

All expenses for our trip to Williamsburg will be paid for by Acura. As usual you can expect me to express my own opinions and you can always count on me to let you know if I’ve gotten something for free.

Super jealous. You are going to have an amazing time! What a great way to end the summer and kick off a new school year. Can’t wait to hear all the tales and see all the pictures.

Although we’re Canadian we are big fans of the American Girl historical books and Felicity from Williamsburg is one of our favourites – my girls would love to see Colonial Williamsburg! Have a great weekend!

We go to Williamsburg every few years because it is near where my sister lives. My favorite is the amazing Virginia ham sandwiches that most of the taverns sell!

Colonial Williamsburg in a fully-loaded Ac! A beautiful, fascinating place to visit, and in a safe, comfortable, and sporty badboy. Are you going to give the car a name?

Williamsburg was on my bucket list of places to visit before moving away from Virginia, but we didn’t get around to it. We’re definitely bummed about that, but at least we get to live vicariously through your family! Can’t wait to read about the trip!

I can’t wait to go back to Colonial Williamsburg! The day we went it was in the high 90’s; too hot to cover much ground. Have you done the ghost tours there before? The week we went, there was a warning in the weekly event calendar that they weren’t appropriate for kids, so we went to a dancing lesson instead, and learned to dance a cotillion!
