Mondays are for dreaming: A return to Atlantis

By Mara

On the beach at Atlantis Resort Bahamas

Generally speaking I don’t long for warm weather when it’s winter. I like winter in fact, love cold-weather landscapes, snow, icicles, and especially skiing. But today I’m thinking about where Teddy and I were one year ago today, on a trip that showed me the decided pleasures of wearing a bathing suit in January.

Beyond just the warm weather and the beach, I think today what I’m remembering is the sheer hedonism to be found at the Atlantis resort. The pools…

In front of The Baths pool Atlantis Resort Baham

The aquariums…

In the shark tunnel Atlantis Resort Bahamas

And the chance to eat chocolate ice cream overlooking the ocean.

Enjoying an ice cream at Atlantis Resort Bahamas

So it turns out that even though winter is great, I wouldn’t say no to a little sun and some fruity drinks.

To Atlantis or not to Atlantis: That’s the question

Almost all of the expenses for my trip were paid for by LEGO, JetBlue, and the Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas.

I love looking at these pictures! It reminds me that I need to make plans to take my oldest somewhere, just the two of us. I have been traveling with my daughter for a little girl’s weekend but I need to take my son somewhere! I have to admit that I am a total wimp when it comes to winter…it was 42 degrees this morning and I thought about looking for jobs in a warmer climate! 🙂

These are lovely pictures, Mara. No harm dreaming of the sunshine in winter, I say! I think I’m ready for spring now…
