Mondays are for dreaming: A Lake Tahoe road trip

By Mara

South Lake Tahoe California

I’m afraid that my Monday Dream this week is going to be a quick one – although with the holidays looming I’m sure you’re just as happy not to have something long to read!

Today my dream is of a trip that my friend and fellow blogger Amy Whitley of Pit Stops for Kids is taking with her family this week. They are staying on Lake Tahoe’s South Shore and reviewing a HomeAway vacation rental in the heart of snow country. Now you all know how much I like HomeAway (and renting houses and apartments when we travel), and the cozy house Amy will be staying looks absolutely adorable. (I’d totally love to wake up to fresh snow on those pine trees).

What will Amy and her family be up to while they are there?

Skiing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, and taking in amazing views from a helicopter, just to name a few of the activities she has planned. Sounds like a pretty fun way to get into the holiday spirit! If you’d like to follow along, she’ll be posting about her adventure on her Tahoe Holiday page.

So other than you already looking at the whistler helicopter tours you’ve always wanted to go on and being a little bit jealous of Amy, what’s your Monday dream? Please feel free to share below.

(Oh, and not to be mysterious or anything, but I’ll have much more to tell you about road trips later this week.)

Love a good road trip, can’t wait to read all about what you’ve got planned. And Lake Tahoe is totally on my bucket list. What a picture-perfect setting.

Honored to be featured, Mara. Don’t be jealous yet…we’re still conquering the winter roads en route! But we’re excited to explore all Tahoe has to offer families and hope everyone will follow along online!

Tahoe is beautiful! A bunch of my coworkers live there … I’ve only been once myself … for a meeting … in a conference room.

I just really looked at the photo on left side of your header image … I believe I took the same photo!!

Ah!! I’m bitten by the mountain in Winter as well. We just got back from the Smoky Mountains park and it’s stunning in winter. I would love to visit Lake Tahoe too. Great Monday dreaming!

Wow, living overseas and having only short trips back to the States I can’t recall the last time I was in Tahoe. This post is great and the picture is outstanding!
