Trafalgar Square, Fall

By Mara

A glorious October day by the fountain in Trafalgar Square. Of course, here’s what we really want to do:

And this:

All this before sitting down for a snack of raisins in front of Nelson’s Column:

And then riding the double decker bus home:

Looking at these photos I realize how long it’s been since we were in London. I’m getting very excited to plan our adventure there this summer.

I share these pictures as part of Photo Friday at Delicious Baby. Have a great weekend!

Seeing these makes me think those ‘toddler travel’ moments. Now my kids are almost 5 & 7,and I think back about why I carted them around so young. But then the other day they mentioned wanting to head out on a trip, and I was inspired by their attitude. “Hey, so do I! Can I tag along?” If we can give them an appreciation for exploring, at least we’ve gotten one thing down. 🙂 Great photos of London.

Can’t wait to hear about your return this summer. It will be fun to see what things stand out for them on your upcoming trip, although I bet they will still love running and leaning dangerously into fountains 🙂

Have you guys watched the Little Travelers DVD of their adventures in Great Britain? It’s one of our favorites.

I agree with Lorraine … so glad we have all made the effort to travel with our kids at such young ages. Although they may not remember all the details, I really think those early experiences foster curiosity, an adventurous spirit, an interest in other cultures, and hopefully a life long love of travel.

Oh!! Don’t you love looking back at the old trip photos? 🙂 I just did that for our Thailand trip as we plan our Summer trip to Thailand. 🙂

Great pictures! I think every child is fascinated by two things: water and running! Looks like you had a great time.

Hi! I followed you from Photo Friday:) The top photo is just gorgeous, and you can just tell what a beautiful fall day it is.

My kids are getting to the age (14,13,11) where they have actually said they “don’t want to go” occasionally. It’s like a knife in my heart:)

    It’s nice to meet you,

    Debbie Ferm
