This Monday I’m dreaming about a place that exists only online: my blog. Now that I’ve been at this for about eight months and have a whole bunch of content I’m realizing that the simple chronological list format really isn’t doing it for me. I mean, who really wants to comb back through old entries looking for that great piece I wrote about eating out in Austin? Or the Musee d’Orsay? Or my defense of travel even in the bad economy?
Well for those of you looking for easier access, I’m happy to announced that there are some changes afoot behind the scenes here at The Mother of All Trips which should come to fruition later this week or early next. What kind of changes you may ask? Well allow me to elaborate:
1. A variety of new ways to easily browse older content including a categorized list of links that’s available on each page.
2. A beautiful new design with look out! No more dark blue!
3. A new url; I’ve taken the plunge and will now be hosting at www (dot) motherofaltrips (dot) com. But don’t fret all of you who subscribe or have my site bookmarked – I’ve got great people helping me make sure that you never even notice the switch.
4. Easy ways to follow me on Twitter, connect with me on Facebook, and see other places my writing appears online.
There will be lots of other smaller changes too, all of them designed to make The Mother of All Trips easier to use and hopefully giving me some room to play with new ideas and expand my offerings.
My hope is that my next Monday dreaming post will be in an entirely new space. I hope you’ll drop by and visit. And please don’t hesitate to let me know if there’s anything you would like to see here – I’m always open to suggestions.
Yay! I know you’ve been hard at work on this. If I don’t remember on my own, please dm or email me to write a post that links to your new home (that will help Google find you faster)
I would love to “talk” with you about your switch, how you are doing it, who is hosting, etc. I am looking to make the switch in early summer. I have purchased the domain name for my site and have a new logo–I am ready to start creating it…but am not really sure where to go from now! Good luck…I can’t wait to find the new site!
