So I’ve won a few awards…

In 2011 and again in 2012, this site was chosen by Babble.com as a Top 25 Travel Blog for Families.
The Mother of all Trips was a Top 25 Travel Blog chosen by Parents on the Circle of Moms website in 2011.
My blog was named one of the Best Family Blogs for 2011 by Tripbase.com. (A repeat performance from 2009.)
In April of 2011, my blog was named a Top Ten Travel Blog finalist by Austin-Lehman Adventures.
In February 2009, my essay Riding the 341 about traveling in London with my son won the Family Fun category of the Intrepid Travel Writing Contest at Wanderlust and Lipstick. A year later, my essay The Return was a finalist in that same category.
And here’s what some top family travel bloggers have to say about my site…
“When I want general information regarding family travel destinations, I go to Mother of All Trips. When I want specifics about age-appropriate child-oriented activities during travel, I go to Mother of All Trips. When I want a beautifully written narrative about a personal experience during family travel, I go to Mother of All Trips. Mara Gorman has created the one-stop-shopping site for family travel research needs and wishes.” –Jennifer Miner, The Vacation Gals

“Mara’s detailed and considered prose brings the destinations she has visited with her children to life in a meaningful way for any parent planning local, national, and international family travel.” –Michelle Duffy, WanderMom (and author of Traveling With Kids)
“Mara Gorman of Mother of all Trips not only captures the what, when, and where of family travel, but much more importantly, the why. Whether her latest post features a far-flung destination or day trip in her own backyard, the importance of introducing kids to the world is conveyed with an enthusiasm that makes you itch to plan your next adventure.” –Amy Whitley, Pit Stops for Kids
“When I first met Mara Gorman, we had an instant connection over our love of family travel. Few family travel writers can convey the transformational power of travel like Mara – her writing is beautiful, her stories engaging, and her site makes you want to grab a cup of coffee and cozy up on the couch with your laptop. This is a great resource for family travel planning and speaks to the joy and journey of motherhood and all of the adventures of traveling with kids.” –Anne Taylor Hartzell, Hip Travel Mama
But wait! There’s more…
In 2010 I was invited by HomeAway to participate in their Great American Road Trip. Tommy and I spent three days riding in the Wagon Queen Family Truckster made famous by in the Vacation movies. Yes, he thought the car was prehistoric. Read about our adventure here.
I’ve also been praised for my packing sense; I was featured on Charmed Valerie as an expert on how to travel fashionably. The Wilmington News Journal agreed in their Delaware Style Files: Fashionable travel writer specializes in optimal packing.
And I like to hang out with the cool kids; I’m a member of the Travel Insights 100 at UpTake.
