This week I’m dreaming about taking the kids to Kinsarvik, Norway, from which Matt’s family emigrated to the United States and where he still has relatives living. I’d like to show the boys the place of their ancestry, to hike up into the mountains and see the waterfalls, to look out over the fjord. In my dream, we’d go at midsummer and camp out, marveling at the fact that the sun doesn’t set. And I know that they would love the nearby amusement park. Maybe we could also stay in the local hotel where furniture that was designed by their great uncle still is in use.
