Today I’m taking a break from tales of our recent European vacation to talk a little bit about Preferred Hotels’ new site Preferred Family, which I think will be a great tool for all of you family travel planners out there.
Preferred is a luxury brand that takes family travel seriously. So seriously, in fact, that they’ve spent tremendous time and energy identifying and certifying 150 resort and hotel destinations worldwide that are family friendly. Book at any of these Preferred resorts, and you know you’ll find that you and your kids are welcomed with open arms and lots of amenities designed just for families. The Preferred Family site offers a chance to browse for inspiration, plan, and also find special offers at any of these properties.
So what else does this site offer for family travel planners?
If you’d like to start with a specific destination, you’ll find itinerary ideas in a variety of cities around the world from Dublin to Delhi in the Three Days In… section. Tips include things to do, places to eat, and most importantly, walks and parks to get those wiggles out. Although Preferred also lists their hotels in each place, this area of the site is useful for anyone planning trips with their kids regardless of where you’ll be staying.
Looking for a hotel with onsite babysitting? Or one with a kids club? Use the Quick Search feature in the Family Travel Planner (available on all pages of the site) to search for properties that meet your needs. You can also look in the Destinations area of the site to find hotels by location. A clickable map shows where hotels are located and then allows you to choose which hotel you’d like to explore. Included in each hotel’s listing is information about the family-friendly certification including what ages it is certified for, what it offers for families, and things to do in the local area.
Another fun feature you’ll find on the Preferred Family site are links to posts from top family travel bloggers, including yours truly. The Family Blogs feed will include posts from The Mother of all Trips on a variety of travel topics, from tips to destinations. Why am I sharing my content there? Because I’m a believer in a brand that makes such a concerted and public effort to serve family travelers.
I look forward to using this site as a planning resource in the future – and I hope you will too.
Disclosure: Although my content is appearing on their site, I have not been compensated by Preferred Hotels to write this post or to recommend Preferred Family. You can always count on me to share my honest opinions and to tell you when I’ve been paid or received a trip for free.
