When we were in Baltimore last weekend we visited the B&O Railroad Museum, which was fully decked out for the holidays with giant snowflakes hung from the rafters and model train layouts of the North Pole. As part of the holiday magic, I discovered that my big boy still loves trains.
Next week I’ll share the full story of our visit to this beautiful museum as well as all the fun we had a the Maryland Science Center and other highlights of our quick Baltimore trip (yes, cannolis will receive their due). In the meantime, have you entered the Kimpton Hotel giveaway yet? In addition to entering on my site, there are three additional chances, with a fourth one going live tomorrow.
And Passports With Purpose is in full swing. We’ve raised $25,000 but have a long way to go to the $80,000 we need to build two libraries in Zambia. I’m donating a Kindle Fire, but there are many other wonderful prizes as well – a mere $10 gives you a chance to enter to win.
For Photo Friday at Delicious Baby. Have a great weekend!

I've taken with my children and those I want to take. Explore and you'll find family travel tips, information about vacation destinations, and lots of stories about our adventures!

Great shots! Love the village set up with the train tracks – the North Pole building is adorable!
This looks a lot like the train show they put on each year at the NY Botanical Garden. If you’re ever up here during Christmas time, be sure to check it out – everything in New York is miniaturized.
Just found out we might be down in Baltimore for a day or two over Christmas. Thanks for the great idea of how to entertain 5 kids under 6 plus 6 parents! I’ll be taking notes next week with the other museums too. Since we will have 6 boys in the bunch, I have a feeling the trains will be a huge hit.
