500 Places With Kids

I love a blogger with a goal, and Anne Patrone has a big one: To see as many of the sites listed in Frommer’s 500 Places to Take Your Kids Before They Grow Up before her own children become adults. She’s more than 10 percent of the way there and we all get the benefit of going along for the ride as the family goes up in a hot air balloon over Sedona, surfs in Waikiki, or finds kid-friendly spots in Las Vegas. In addition to sharing stories, Anne also offers plenty of tips and resources for traveling families.

The message behind Anne’s site is probably my favorite thing about it. She says that she wants her children to “appreciate the cultures and beauties and mysteries of the world….to become travelers.” It’s that kind of attitude that makes this site a great read.
