When you’re visiting the Smithsonian museums in Washington, DC, don’t neglect this one. The collection of 18th- and 19th-century portraits and landscapes from French, English, and American artists are a highlight of this museum – children will love looking at how kids in the “old days” dressed and played. There’s also a lovely sculpture garden next to the main building. There are family guides to many of the galleries available at the museum and family programs include story time and “Artful Conversations.” Can’t make it to the museum? Share art online with NGA Kids.
