I’m a long-time fan of this site, and actually read it before its author, Christine Gilbert, had a baby. I’ve really enjoyed seeing her evolution into a traveling mom. What I really love here is the writing, pure and simple. Christine has a way with words (and often takes pictures to match).
So what is this site about? Perhaps I should leave that description to Christine: “It’s about travel. It’s about creating a life that works for you. It’s about the fact that life is indeed bloody short and no one is going to give you a gold star for playing it safe.” Christine and her husband are long-term travelers with no fixed address and no plans to return to the United States. Since their baby Cole was born they’ve taken him to India, Egypt, Greece, Paris, Dubai, Colombia…even the Burning Man Festival in the Nevada desert. (Christine posted an amazing photo-laden post on his first birthday). While this isn’t a life I would choose, I love to read about their adventures and I respect and admire their courage and tenacity.
Always a pleasure to read, often thought-provoking, for me this is armchair travel at it’s very best. And when I plan our family trip to Asia, you can bet I’ll be turning here for advice!
I've taken with my children and those I want to take. Explore and you'll find family travel tips, information about vacation destinations, and lots of stories about our adventures!
