One last glimpse of Vancouver…

Seaplanes in VancouverCan you tell I found it hard to leave the Pacific Northwest? I promise to move onto other topics next week, but before I do, I thought I’d share one last picture. This is me and my friend (and roommate for the weekend I spent in Vancouver) Amy Whitley of Pit Stops for Kids. We both just loved the seaplanes that buzz constantly over the waterfront – I think because we both know that any one of our five boys would really enjoy a ride in one – and had to have our photo taken in front of them.

There were lots of things in Vancouver that I know my family would love, but it was also nice for me to get away on my own and meet up with lots of friends. Sometimes when we travel with our children, it’s easy to forget about the pleasures of solo adult travel. Which reminds me, that another place you can find me this week is in a piece about a grown-up getaway in Philadelphia I wrote about just that topic for Travels With Two, a site I love to peruse when I’m dreaming of travel that doesn’t involve the boys!

For Photo Friday at Delicious Baby (which is the newest Travel Site I Love, in case you missed it). Have a great weekend.

  1. i love the smiles and happiness!

  2. You are welcome back to the PacNW anytime! We will show you all the wonders of Seattle. Just make sure to come in the summer or fall. Unless you like snow sports, you may not want to come to the grey and cold in the winter. Although it’s still better than a blizzard in February back east :-)

  3. I would love to ride on a seaplane, and I am sure my boys would love to join me. Vancouver is definitely on my travel to-do list.

  4. Come back to the PNW soon! (waving)

  5. I’m dying to go to Vancouver. I fell in love with Victoria on a no kids getaway with my husband. I definitely dream of a Pacific North West trip with the family to these two great cities.
