Mondays are for dreaming: Summer travel

The start of summerI’m going to be honest with you: This is a lazy, holiday weekend post. Not because I’ve been lazy this holiday weekend – quite the opposite in fact. I spent so much time in my garden to this weekend that I can barely move my hands to type.

Sometimes even us travel types need to buckle down and do a little maintenance on the home front, and since Matt’s presence is always required at graduation on Memorial Day weekend, it seemed like a good time to do a little planting and a lot of weeding and pruning.

Of course, while I was working, all I could think about (other than how hot I was – it was pushing 90 all weekend here in Delaware) was how this is the start of the summer and I can’t wait for our adventures to begin. We’ve got some good ones on deck including a trip to Boston (our first since Teddy was born), our usual dreamy time in Vermont, and a solo trip for me to Vancouver where I’ll rub elbows with other travel bloggers at the annual TBEX conference.

Most anticipated of all isn’t a destination, but the fact that Tommy gets his cast off on Thursday and after a very long nine weeks I can’t wait to watch him cannonball into the neighborhood pool.

Do you have a Monday dream about summer travel plans (or anything else)? I’d love to read it!

  1. Is it weird that I have loads of summer plans, but I am most looking forward to Vancouver next month. Somehow going to a conference seems less stressful and like a mini-vacation after the past few weeks of traveling we have had. Hope I get to meet you there!

  2. I am so excited that Tommy is getting his cast off just in time for your summer. Big S had a broken collar bone through summer and it was miserable but one of the best parts was that day the doctor said you can run! You can jump! You can play! I am sorry that I am going to miss TBEX if nothing else because I would have loved to connect with all of you. I can’t wait to read about the experience!

  3. Sounds like you have a wonderful summer planned! We just got back from a quick trip to Boston, and it’s one of my favorite places. I can’t wait to read about your adventures there!
