Birding on the Avon River near Bath

Birding on the Avon near Bathampton

When we spent the day in Bath, England this summer, Tommy was so tired that we took a boat ride just to get him to fall sleep (which he grudgingly did). The cruise, up the Avon River to the village of  Bathampton and then back to the center of Bath again, also turned out to be great fun for Teddy who joined some fellow birdwatchers to catch glimpses of herons and kingfishers and swans using the binocular he got as a gift on the London Eye.

It didn’t seem to trouble him a bit that his companions had on average about 70 years on  him.

  1. Loving the idea of taking a boat trip to get Teddy to sleep! Looks like a fun day and I’m glad you got to see lots of interesting birds.

  2. Hi! I just stumbled upon your site and I’m really excited to follow…although it may always be with a smidgen of jealousy from all the wonderful places you’ve been/are going. :)

Thanks for sharing the stories and family travel info!
