Where in the world is MOAT?

I’m back in Delaware – but not for long! And it’s the quintessential challenge of travel blogging: when you’re traveling a lot, it can be tough to keep up with the writing, especially when you’re spending your days outside in the cold getting lots of exercise. Over this past holiday weekend we were skiing at Mad River Glen in Waitsfield, Vermont and it was impossible for me to keep my eyes open much past 8 p.m., let alone to write blog posts.

We had a wonderful time and I want to make sure I do the whole trip justice. But since I just got back last night and since I’ll be spending the next two days getting ready to go the Bahamas with Teddy, I’m going to hold off on posting about my family’s first ski trip until next week. Never fear however: I’m planning a series of posts in which I’ll share the joy of rediscovering traditions from childhood and sharing them with your kids, what it’s like to watch your child (and your husband) learn a new sport, and the old-time spirit of genuine fun that makes skiing at Mad River such a pleasure.

So what can you expect this week? Look tomorrow for a great interview with travel photographer and blogger Peter West Carey who will update us on his latest travel project. Friday I’ll be sharing a fun photo for Photo Friday at Delicious Baby. And if I get the chance over the weekend I’ll be live blogging from the Bahamas – although I just got our itinerary and it looks pretty full. Do you think my laptop will work on the beach? If not, I’ll be sure to tell you all about that trip when we return as well.

  1. I’m feeling a tinge of green while looking at you in the snow, then onto the beach and sand in the Bahamas. Look forward to reading your posts and insights. Enjoy yourself and watch out for that sand in the laptop.

  2. the traveler blogger’s dilemma is always how to balance work and play. I get behind on one or the other on a regular basis
