If any of you out there who live where driving happens on the left side of the road are looking for a way to test the strength of your marriage, I have a great way to do so. Fly to Ireland, rent a car and pay only for one person to drive it (choose the one who usually doesn’t do the driving). As soon as possible, get off the highway and spend time driving through the countryside, making sure to vary your terrain from terrifyingly narrow and twisting mountain roads where lumber trucks roar constantly past to coastal byways utterly lacking in guardrails.
This photo was taken from our car window on our way to the Hook Lighthouse in County Wexford Ireland. Although the road did indeed shortly become a 45-degree incline that ended right at the sea, happily, our car did not tumble into the brink and our marriage did not end, although there were definitely some dicey moments during that trip. I’m not sure how well it would have worked with two kids in the backseat, so I think if we return I’ll make Matt do the driving.

I remember seeing that sign and chuckling!
They really do have some hilariously ambiguous signs though that had me wondering what the heck they meant!

Well there’s a sign you don’t see everyday… I love looking at and “reading” road signs. Thanks for sharing a new one!
It reminds me of the 80′s Nintendo game Excite Bike!
Gosh, I thought the dog pooping signs in Spain were fun, but this?!
Thanks for sharing.
I, too, love to locate hilarious road signs! This one definitely makes you think twice!

LOL! I hear ya! Try spending a month in Ireland with an RV with steering on the right side! The roads are horrible in Ireland, but we’ve actually had much worse, like driving up and down the world’s worst switchback in Santorini!!
Luckily hubs does all the driving, but we’ve had more than a few thrills on our world tour so far! Ireland was our 1st country in 2 1/2 years that spoke English (mostly) so that made it easier!
