And he’s off…

I always expect to teach my kids new things when we travel, not so much my husband. But this past weekend, he became a skier.

There’s no going back now. When I took these pictures, he had been at it for exactly two days. And I had coaxed him up to an intermediate trail at the top of Mad River Glen. You’d never know it! The most satisfying thing about this was that he enjoyed skiing so much – in fact he claims that he may never forgive me for letting him go so long without trying it.

Much more on this to follow next week, but I couldn’t resist sharing these pictures for Photo Friday at Delicious Baby. Hope you’ll stop by there to see the other great travel stories-through-pictures.

(And Teddy and I are off this weekend too – to the Bahamas! See you next week.)

My husband was a later-in-life skier too! Now he loves it as well. Half of it is decent equipment and a proper lesson; half of it is a beautiful day in the mountains that sells ‘em on it. We head off on our CO ski trip in March!

You CAN teach an old dog (no offense) new tricks. I was just chatting with some folks last night about how you have to have learned to ski when you’re a youngin’ in order to really get hooked. Here’s hoping your husband continues to enjoy it!

Looks like he’s having a great time! We like to cross country ski, but don’t get to do it very much. We pretty much have six months of November around here…we haven’t gotten enough snow to ski in yet, and we haven’t been able to travel north this year. Still hoping for some snow here before winter’s end :)

Clearly he got their motto – Ski it if you can! Awesome! See you next time you are here.

Got something to say?
