Overheard today in our car:
Teddy (who recently read a book about Noah’s arc): “There have got to be unicorns someplace.”
Daddy: “Maybe in the deep, deep mysterious woods where no people ever go.”
Pause
Teddy: “Maybe in North Dakota! We should go there. Or [sounding more dubious now] maybe the woods here.”
Here are the not-so-deep woods of Northern Vermont about which I will have much to say in coming days. It is cool and damp and buggy if not mysterious. The boys have already caught many frogs, tadpoles, and salamanders and there have been bear sightings in the neighborhood recently (don’t tell Matt – he is ursus-phobic). But no unicorns. Perhaps we do need to head for North Dakota. I’ll add it to the bucket list.
I've taken with my children and those I want to take. Explore and you'll find family travel tips, information about vacation destinations, and lots of stories about our adventures!

Well, my kids haven’t found a unicorn yet in North Dakota, but it’s as good a guess as any!
