A clown train

07.10.09_Fritz's

So how many children do you suppose can fit into the small engineer’s compartment of a model steam train? If you judge by this picture it’s four.

The amazing thing is that the picture still doesn’t contain every child we had with us on the outing. Two are missing (I’ve included photos of them below so that the aren’t left out).

One of the things about our recent road trip that was so much fun was that we stayed with several different sets of friends who have kids – in this case five of them. We’ve known their parents since before any of these children was more than a glimmer in our eyes and it was really fun to reconnect and watch our offspring become great friends. My boys loved the chaos and rough and tumble of a big family. Although I’m glad to say that there were three adults on this particular outing – even so, it was obvious that we were outnumbered!

This photo is for Photo Friday at Delicious Baby. It was taken outside Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant at Crown Center in Kansas City. Much more on our lunch there and our outing to come.

Just stopping by to catch up on your trip.

We also spent two weeks visiting all friends, although this was the first trip to Santa Cruz that we didn’t bunk with any of them. I actually missed couch surfing despite the advantages of hotel living! Loved last weeks monkey picture btw!

So how many kids can fit into a Volkswagen Bug? :) I seem to remember cramming about 8 of us into a Ford Falcon when I was in high school.

First shot made bme laugh too!

I’m wondering how many adults you can fit in that same compartment :-)

Looks like a blast for the kids! Hopefully they were tired out by the time you got them home so y’all could unwind from being outnumberd! :)

Sometimes the best memory of our travel is not where we go but who we go with. :) It’s so cute in the first picture. So how many kids can you really fit in that space?
