If you’re like me, this time of year is nothing short of insanity, with what seem like month’s worth of activities crammed into a few short weeks. Now that my kids are school-aged and participate in sports, things get especially crazy. I certainly didn’t intend to go an entire week without posting, but life got away from me a bit and here it is, Friday again.
Happily, of course, Memorial Day Weekend does mark the time when things start to slow down and when my thoughts turn to our summer travel plans, near and far. I’m ready to load up the car and take off, whether it’s to some local museums and zoos or for Wisconsin, Kansas City, Vermont, and Manhattan – all of which are on the agenda for the next three months. I can’t wait to get going, and of course to get writing about it all!
And as per usual, we’re going to be doing our traveling in our small sedan. Don’t let anyone tell you it can’t be done folks – the picture above is evidence. We were leaving for three weeks in Vermont and indeed it was a bit snug, but we managed, carrying two bikes on a rack and no portable video games.
This is for Photo Friday at Delicious Baby – I hope you’ll check out the other posts there.
And a note to everyone who’s interested in memes and who requested that I make one for Monday Dreaming: I’ve done so and will offer the chance to link in my post on Monday, May 25. I hope you’ll come prepared to share your own Monday dreams!

Got something to say?

Where are the snacks? Will you bring Goldfish? I can’t go on a roadtrip without them (and I don’t have kids!)

The snacks are located in the front seat where they can be doled out over the course of the trip and not consumed in the first ten minutes! And yes, Goldfish are definitely on the list along with dried fruit, pretzels, apple, and kettle corn.

When are you planning to arrive in Wisconsin? and how long…all summer would be great!
Cute! They look like happy campers!
We don’t use game boys or videos either & thrive on our 7 months of road tripping around the world. We leave next week, can’t wait to hit the road again!
Have a happy Memorial Day weekend!

Happy Road Tripping! Looks very neat and organized….our van always starts out that way but by the end of a trip it’s a huge mess of books, snacks, clothes, toys, and one family that is very happy to return home!
