So I’ve spent three days sharing all the features that I love about my new site. Now it’s your turn to let me know what you like. Your reward for the feedback? Entry into a drawing to win a 25 dollar Amazon gift card. Oh, and also my undying gratitude of course.
Here’s what you need to do: Look back at the last three posts (or recite them from memory) and leave me a comment in this post telling me which of the three things I talked about you like the best. If you’re feeling really generous, let me know and what you’d like to see me add (this can include anything – design elements, categories, future posts you’d like to see).
And I’ll sweeten the pot a little bit. If you’re on Twitter, you can get yourself another entry in the drawing by following me and tweeting about the drawing (you’ll need to include @motherofalltrip – no s – in your tweet so I know that you did it). Or if you’re on Facebook, friend me, and post a link to my site on your Facebook page telling people about the drawing and I’ll throw in an extra entry. Do both and you get two extra entries (drop me a line in my FB Inbox to let me know you’ve done that too).
I’d also love it if you would subscribe, but I can only tell you’ve done that if you sign up for e-mail, so I’ll leave that one up to you! Remember that if you subscribed to my old feed in a reader, you’ll want to subscribe to the new one as the old one will be shut off sometime soon.
The drawing will close at 12 a.m. Pacific Time on Monday April 6th. That’s for all my online friends on the West Coast. I’ll draw the name on Tuesday and notify the lucky winner.
And next week I will be back to my regular posting schedule. I’ll be dreaming about Barcelona, talking about some of our recent day trips, and also posting about my last-minute trip planning for our Arizona trip. Hope to see you around.

Got something to say?

Oh, and for my friends in foreign climes – I’m happy to purchase a gift card from your Amazon for the equivalent amount or perhaps to work something out if you don’t have Amazon. Don’t let it deter you.
I love the sidebar on the left — so I can choose a category and find your posts on that topic. Especially since I’m in Austin, I love to see what you say about us! Also helps when I have a friend visit with a younger child, since mine are 12 now, it’s hard sometimes to remember what we did when they were younger. LOVE the new design! Great job!!
Well, I’m happy to chip in, and don’t let’s even talk about the incentive, darls. Firstly, I love the way you mix together “big” trips, like the Paris adventure with “small” trips and tales like going to the community garden to plant peas with the boys. The essence of travel for me is the sense of discovery – and we can all discover things in our own backyard!
Secondly, I think the design is just smashing. I love the logo you’ve come up with – with the boys on the left and the Eiffel Tower and Taj Mahal on the right. Will the masthead stay the same, or will you switch around some of the pictures with ones you’ve taken of other travels?
Thirdly, I like the tabs – I used to maintain a really amateurish web site to organize my archives and use as a reference for editors when I couldn’t attach docs for spam/virus reasons. Yours is much better – very crisp, easy to understand and visually attractive. I would imagine that it will prove very useful and great advertising for your talents, my friend.
I love the whole design…great colors, great pics. The tabs are great – I think there is enough going on on the whole site without it being too busy. It’s well organized without looking like a stock/generic blog site. I’m in the process of getting a site together and yours is a great example.

I just love the colors on your new web site, but having to pick a favorite thing is difficult, because I also think the way you’ve organized the sidebars makes things so easy to find and follow. You can bet I’ll be referring back here to steal ideas when I move my blog from WordPress.com to wordpress.org
BTW, I just noticed that my latest post just popped up below this note, with an option for me to choose a more recent post. I’ve never seen that before. How can I get it??
I’ll follow on Facebook for an extra contest chance, but already follow on Twitter–do I get credit for that?

I love the new tabs at the top, esp. reading more in the About page.
I love the categories.
I love the eating on the road category, since I love dining recommendations.

First time visitor here from Twitter, so I never saw the OLD site. I love this one. What I like…
1. Color combo
2. The cute flower throughout
3. Header
4. Your tagline
5. I like the way you have catagorized without being to cluttered. My blog needs a makeover- maybe I’ll contact your designer.
Glad I found you- I’ll subscribe!! Great blog!!

I agree that the colors are great. I do love your new site, the tabs across the top, everything. I have to say though, the thing that stood out from those last three posts is the name of your designers blog: I Should Be Folding Laundry. That is hilarious. Shouldn’t we all??
Hey Mara! Great site! I just re-subscribed…my old subscription wasn’t working anymore…but it’s all fine now.
I like the tabs as well…especially the places you’ve been and family travel tips.

Hi Mara!! Great blog and I really like the new look. The navigation is very simple and straightforward. It is good you list the States first and then the attractions. It’s good to have strong key words on your site. The pink color is neutral and not too bright. Very charming blog with lots of useful info! –Michelle, blogattoday {^at} gmaildotcom
