Lucia, I have really enjoyed being part of a CSA. It's like getting a present every week because you never know what's going to be in the box. It also has made me cook things I never would buy on my own (more leafy greens and radishes for instance). And I think it gets us eating even lower on the food chain than usual - I had my vegetarian cookbooks out quite a bit all spring and summer. Thanks for the comments all.

Lucia, I have really enjoyed being part of a CSA. It’s like getting a present every week because you never know what’s going to be in the box. It also has made me cook things I never would buy on my own (more leafy greens and radishes for instance). And I think it gets us eating even lower on the food chain than usual – I had my vegetarian cookbooks out quite a bit all spring and summer.

I started a garden at my kids' school and it is so amazing to watch them gobble up the broccoli and lettuce they have grown...they pick it out of the garden and have it during snacktime. Great lessons, great fun, and great way to get kids to eat veggies (tastes better when you grow it yourself and eat it fresh from the garden!).
